Swamphoppin

Well-known member
*This is my first airboat. I tore down yesterday and stripped. I got 40 grit sandpaper(lowest I could find)
2-gallons of Quickslick product, roller brushes, gloves, gonna pick up some aluminum brightener.
Strip, sand, clean, clean, clean, apply; right?
Any suggestions?

Masking tape, paper, mixing buckets, acetone for clean up, no need for acid wash, 9" roller cover,, heavy duty roller, extension pole,, mix up the 1st gallon, pour up the center of the hull, have roller ready beforehand,, haul ass moving the paint side by side, crossways, fore and aft shall be your final full run, nice even passes, untape. Clean up.

Never used QuickSlick. On your first trip out, note how it slides first time off the trailer vs. after a day of scuffing. I find Steelflex 2000 is sticky on dry mud before it get's scuffed.

If you run that and ground, go ahead and make everything quick disconnect so you can flip it over every 15 hours and repeat, cause you gonna be a Quick slick expert soon!

On Cypress right now. Wow. I put composite deck boards on trailer too! Holy s**t this thing is slick. I had to let it run off trailer and go get it… 😂. Couldn’t hold it. So far it runs dry like wtf? 4x4 baby. We’ll see how long it lasts? I ran up one of those hills on cypress up top!!! Maybe 12-1500 rpm’s. Wow.

Cool, how does the old girl plane out? No hop?
Way better almost perfect. I actually had her running 2700 to 3000 RPMs for 15- 20 seconds here and there was very little to no hop sometimes it would hold flat for a minute there is still some hop. but it rides way different now with the slick bottom

hey John and Gator,, Do you guys know if anybody is going to pick up Mr Porters product,, we’ve had great luck with it and with him passing wasnt sure of the outcome?
