I have a heavy 17x7 with 32” sides and when I try and tach out in deep water it pushes the front down too much and sprays you. I have about 10” in the rear that I could move back.
How much distance would you keep from the transom? Maybe about Peter length will help.

Raise the back of your motor by shimming it.
