Re: New pictures of my build...FIXED IT!
Looks neat to me! Only thing that pops into my head is it's a lot shorter than I imagined. Love the look...how long before you float it?

Did you ever get a final weight of the hull after glassing it in?
Nice looking boat, hope its rides as good as it looks.

13 ft Diamondback, GSO-480, 4 blade Q, gas tank too small, not enough cash to fill it.

Re: New pictures of my build...FIXED IT!
The cap is still not glassed yet. That will be done this weekend along with the grass rake. It will add approximately another 50 pounds to it. Right now, it only weighs 200 pounds. 2 of us can lift it with ease. So, even after the grass rake and final glassing the hull should not weigh more than 250 to 275. Beings I am using all EMT for the rigging (other than my 2 hoops which will be tubing) the entire boat, even adding the 244 lb engine should weigh around 600 to 650 lbs. I will get a final weight on the rig when it is built.HVGator wrote:Did you ever get a final weight of the hull after glassing it in?

Painted the boat today, I used some Valspar anti slip paint for the deck then finished it off with Reelfoot stencils. It kinda looks like a log stuck in some grass. Or a turd stuck in some grass. Or a camouflaged turd....

Started on my engine stand today. Getting the engine level and square to the stand is another story.

Thanks RickMc. I'm gonna shoot Bob an email and give him all mods made, maybe he could sell the plans as the "Lake Buggy Pro".RickMc wrote:Hey man , hull looks awsome , major improvement on the original design . Re: New pictures of my build...FIXED IT!
Looks a lil barren. lol Better get with it, Kajun. Gonna be trip time before too long.
Re: New pictures of my build...FIXED IT!
Hey kajun did you keep track of the cost of materials to build that hull? I know you got lots of man hours in it, but building one yourself like that would be a inexpensive way to get into airboating! That hull does look very stable, you sure your not sitting on the bottom??
Just messin with ya!! Looks AWSOME!

Re: New pictures of my build...FIXED IT!
I have all the receipts pipedog. But, I haven't added it all up. A guesstimate is about 1500 to 2000 maybe. Probably less but I am going a little higher. When I get to the point of registration, I will post the costs.pipedog wrote:Hey kajun did you keep track of the cost of materials to build that hull? Re: New pictures of my build...FIXED IT!
I know it. And I'm 6' tall. 200 lbs as of this past Saturday. I put my girlfriend on the corner with me and it barely moved. She weighs 95 lbs. So I guess if it can handle 295 on either corner, 244 in the center should be a breeze. I tell ya' it floats so high that it liked to got away from me when I went to step on it. Or, that could have been a little intoxication.Comanche-pup wrote:Looks a lot bigger in water with you on it!

Ordered my prop today. 70" (3) Blade Warp Drive with HP hub. Should have it in about 3 weeks. I still haven't figured out how I am going to build up my starter boss yet. Maybe a 1/2 gallon of JB Weld will do.
