New pictures of my build...FIXED IT!
Re: New pictures of my build...FIXED IT!
Looks great ,Ilike the way you tapered the sides and made it wider . That will be a big improvement over the original plan .I wish I foulnd this site before I built mine . Good luck Rick

New pictures of my build...FIXED IT!
Thanks Rick. Depending on how this one handles, I may begin another build next year. Something a little bigger with more power. I dunno yet. It might ride like crap. Gotta see.

New pictures of my build...FIXED IT!
Thank ya Bill! Making slow progress at the moment. Fiberglassed the floor last Friday. Ordered my chopped mat for this weekend. Hopefully the weather will be nice and dry to lay it. I had to true up the bottom due to the weather we have been having. I want to get it sealed so I don't have to fight that again!

Re: New pictures of my build...FIXED IT!
Bump this.......FYI to all subscribed and watching. I have ordered the 6 oz cloth to finish the bottom. Should get that next week. Last weekend the chopped mat was glassed on, but 3/4's of the way through I ran out of resin. Pictures have been taken but not uploaded. I have also ordered some Wetlander for the bottom as well. So, this coming weekend, I should have the bottom glassed and slick coated by Sunday evening. My hull is still bottom up and will not be turned over until the bottom is FINISHED. I will continue to straight edge it to make sure there are no cross buckles in it. I will continue to keep all of you posted on this build. I'm ready to turn it over and start my rigging.

Wow...that sled is looking really nice! You ought to be a big hit with that design in your area, too. Be sure to post photos of the finished boat!

It's not bad at all. You just have to learn to weld it together a little at a time. It melts quickly if you don't watch it.Wild Bill wrote:looks good, how do you like working with condit?

Actually billybob, in my ignorance I thought they were both the same. All I have ever used was poly, but since I am building glass over plywood it wasn't an option this time. The Wetlander seems to get a lot of good reviews so I am giving it a try. Also, it was the ease of application as well. One coat and done!billybob wrote:What made you switch from Quick Slick to wetlander?

Thanks Blu. I hope it changes some attitudes around here as far as airboats. I will have to see how she handles the River once it is done. Everyone around here either has a Robicheaux hull or Thibodeaux hull. There are not very many other brands of boats around that I know of. Other than Faucheaux who runs Alumitech last I heard.BluByU2 wrote:Wow...that sled is looking really nice! You ought to be a big hit with that design in your area, too. The wide platform should make it a stable boat to fish off of for sure. Frogging will be a kick in the pants with it. I will keep the pics coming from start to finish. This weekend I should have the engine stand built and mounted along with the seat stand. Maybe even be able to start on my cage.

I didn't get much done this weekend. Took a small break. Today, I painted my seat stand and steering stick. Also, I cut the bow square and attached a dowel rod cut in half to make it round.

Yep, tell ya right now that will be a free running sliding jewel.
I admire your craftsmanship.
With that being said, I keep looking at your seat stand, ya may need more X bracing or gussets.
