Do you gut them before taking them out? It looks like it . Just wondering if you gut and quarter.

Skip,
Your crackin' on this one....they are delicious. I'm gonna feed ya some unknowingly and fool ya!!
Downriver they whacked a nice grizz, but we didn't see any or I'd have pics of me skinning him too.
We were 34 river miles up from the launch, right at the base of the Brooks Range. No one around for 10 miles or more, it was awesome.
We field dress them with the moose picker, dunk them in the river for 5-10 mins (35 degree water) and then hang them as you see till we left. Get home, hang them again from the picker, skin, quarter, and toss into the fridge in the shop. Pull out a qarter and process. So far I made breakfast sausage, chorizo, pepperoni and spicy hunter stix. All of it is awesome!!
40 gallon tank = 80 miles roughly in the water and about 1mpg on dry ground. We carried an extra 50 gallons into camp with us which allowed us to do some cruising into the Brooks Range mtns and some exploring each day.

For those that enjoyed the pics....here's a few more from the trip.

First 2 days was in mid 40's then it dropped to mid 20's. Perfect for hanging meat. Snowed nightly but usually melted off by afternoon.

Fantastic! I have a couple friends that hunt Moose on their hovercrafts. One is in Wasilla and hunts off the Talkeetna River, and the other is in Wrangell and hunts up the Stikine River.
