Radio + Speakers for Airboat
Hi! Looking to purchase a radio and speakers for my husband's airboat. Any recommendations or suggestions? He has top notch taste so any advice is appreciated!

Re: Radio + Speakers for Airboat
Many different configurations to choose from...................What works for me may not be ideal for him.
Maybe ask him ??
I keep a list of possible gift items with part #'s and sources in a kitchen drawer for my wife's reference.... I never receive a gift I don't like.

Overtons, West Marine, BassPro all have tons of marine equipment, good stuff too or try your local car audio store.

Just my opinion but I would check with a local car audio store, one that has several different lines of equipment. I do know that JL Audio has a line of marine equipment if you can find a local dealer for them. I have used their auto stuff and it sounds crystal clear at just about any sound level you chose to run it

Re: Radio + Speakers for Airboat
I used a Fusion head unit and speakers on my boat. Works great and are specifically built for boats. A lot of the big box stores sell the MS-RA205 as a package with speakers. Easy to mount and bluetooth capable.

Can't go wrong with JL Audio either: http://www.jlaudio.com/marine-audio

Had Fusion in offshore boat , JL in jeep and Memphis Audio in Airboat. If you add an intercom system , you can listen to music, communicate with passengers and take incoming cell call without touching anything.

Wetsounds, hands down makes the best marine audio equipment. I just installed a bluetooth sound bar by them that connects to my phone, has a built in amp and is plenty loud.

Fusion or any marine head unit should work just fine. As far as speakers and amps Wetsounds, JL and Rockford Fosgate is what I would recommend.

Amen. I used to carry a small boom box in a heavy ziplock bag in the bow locker for the hill, but honestly it wasn't used all that much. I don't like to hardwire anything on a boat that doesn't make it run. JMOScarecrow wrote:Junglecat, I use my airboat to get away from all that crap.

In order to have the CFO go riding with me , I have to have music for her. As much as I'd like to forget everything when riding , I have to be available for my drivers if they are on the road.

Re: Radio + Speakers for Airboat
Ive been though piles of marine speakers in my offshore boat and the JL Audio's last longer and sound better than anything out there. I haven't had the WetSounds tho... I put a Kicker (PXi 50.2) Bluetooth amp driving 2 JL Audio 7.7" speakers on my airboat and it sounds awesome! I down loaded a 2 or 3 dollar EQ to get some more treble out of it and made it even better! Another good thing is I can play it hard all day and it doesn't drain the battery on my boat.

Love my poly planners, they have been sank 3 times, twice in salt water. Still sound great and were only 100$ for the pair. http://www.starmarinedepot.com/poly-pla ... p1106.html
