EVERYONE needs to email Sentor Nelson about gun bans !

I just received this reply form Senator Bill Nelson who says he is supporting the Gun ban , everyone needs to go to his web site and email him to change his mind and vote against the gun bans

I am a hunter and have always owned guns, and I support the Second Amendment.

But assault weapons such as AK 47s are intended for killing, not hunting.

Solutions for reducing gun violence must address many areas, from protecting law enforcement and keeping weapons out of the hands of criminals, to school safety, access to mental health services, and confronting a culture that sometimes glorifies violence.

I support reinstating the assault weapons ban and restoring the 10-round limit for ammunition magazines. And, I support universal background checks so that we can know if person buying a weapon has a criminal record.

I appreciate hearing your views on this very important issue, and I will keep them in mind. Please do not hesitate to contact me in the future.

Honestly appreciate your faith in the system but that trash known as bill nelson is little more than a party stooge for the communist party usa (dimocraps) and no amount of letters will change that.

Done not much of a letter and I also left a message on the ph with both senators on this and against the filibuster rule Reid wants to change

To our Honorable Senator Bill Nelson
I adamantly oppose any further restrictions or reinterpretations of our 2nd amendment rights.

What I have read being proposed so far and the actions taken by the gun control proponents is not sound judgment and is only furthering the erosion of the intent of our founding fathers

This is my letter to Nelson;
I am submitting this email to you to let you know how I feel about the current trend with certain politicians who support the so called "assault weapons" ban, and limiting magazines to ten (or less) rounds. I am totally opposed to this legislation, and I know from your poll 96% of your constituents feel the same way. If you vote for this ban, which is contrary to the way most participants voted, you do not speak for the people! I will never support anyone who does not support the people's wishes, nor will I support anyone who seeks to destroy our Constitutional rights.

Can you detect a little anger? Oh well.

he is much closer than tally when he is not in washington dc .. he doesn't live or work in tally last I knew anyways ..

This is the response I received back from from Mr. Nelson. I sent him another message explaining how ridiculous his reply to me was. There is no such thing as a 2a supporter that wants to ban guns and also informed him that the 2nd Amendment has absolutely nothing to do with hunting.

A week ago or so I posted on the gun talk section of this site that I had written Posey, Rubio and Nelson about the proposed gun control and asked for their stand.
I believe I updated everyone that Posey wrote back a long personal email hitting every point I made. (not a form email)

Well, guess what I got from Bill Nelson? The EXACT same email that gold_hunter received.

Time to whip up a reply...

I'm also taking screen shots almost daily of his website/poll results in case the numbers change conveniently in favor of the ban.

I grew up on a ranch and have been a hunter since I was a boy. I have had guns all my life. I support a person's constitutional right to bear arms. I support the Second Amendment.

In 2008, the Supreme Court of the United States affirmed that the Second Amendment protects a person's right to possess a firearm, unconnected to military service, and to use that firearm for traditional lawful purposes like self-defense within the home. This is the law of the land.

I appreciate hearing your views on this subject. Hearing from you helps me to better serve you in the Senate.

I can see where he changed his rhetoric (a little) from his previous letter. Maybe the results of his own poll caused him to change it, and I hope so, but I still think he would vote for the assault weapon ban regardless of how his constituents feel. If he doesn't speak for the people, and he votes to further his own agenda (or Obama's), he needs to GO!
