Wiring harness schematic SBC
Anyone have a good Wiring harness schematic for a SBC with carburetor. My new 383 should be showing up in the next few weeks and can’t find a good schematic for it. Have a brand new harness already here.

I admit to being a dummy sometimes, and maybe haven't had enough coffee yet, but a SBC w/carb seems a little generic.Klondike Jim wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 12:53 amAnyone have a good Wiring harness schematic for a SBC with carburetor. . . . Have a brand new harness already here.
I'd think that the flavor/type of ignition system your harness is expecting would probably be helpful information.

This is info I have at this time. And I am not a mechanic by any stretch. I have someone going to wire it for me but I would like to have an idea of what color goes where.

Re: Wiring harness schematic SBC
If it is a GM HEI and a single wire alternator any mechanic would know the plan.
Basically you run a 30 amp power wire to the ignition switch. Then run a wire off the ignition “S” to the starter solenoid.
Then run a wire from the ignition switch (R) or (I) to the HEI.
The alternator if a 7127 single wire style you run a good (30amp) wire to the battery positive side.
Besides good ground that will get you started
It literally is that simple once you get to doing it.
Obviously gauges will add to the mix if electric and not mechanical. I prefer mechanical sans the Volt meter which is fed off the hot wire powering the primary ignition feed.

And I thought I had issues with 10 degree down bungs on o2 censors with the new lt1 headers per side?Deano wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 8:01 amI admit to being a dummy sometimes, and maybe haven't had enough coffee yet, but a SBC w/carb seems a little generic.Klondike Jim wrote: ↑Tue Jan 05, 2021 12:53 amAnyone have a good Wiring harness schematic for a SBC with carburetor. . . .
