OK I have been running a G0480 for around five years now and I'm thinking about going to a GSO for the extra power. I called a local guy about about a bottom end and supercharger and he's willing to sell me one but I want to pick some brains before I make the jump.
So I have a set of six fresh overhauled chrome bore cylinders on my GO and obviously I want to keep them. Problem is when I rebuilt the top end I went to 8.7:1 pistons....can I run them or do I need to go back to 7.3:1 with the GSO.
What I'm getting at is I want to use all the parts that I can from my GO to put on the GSO. Are the rods the same ?
I know I need to swap the internals in 1 mag.
And last if anyone might have interest in a bottom end off of a GO480 I will be selling it soon. All I will be selling is the case crank oil pan and carburetor I believe the rest I will have to swap over.
