Thanks Warrior Engines!

Post by cowboy »

Decided to get a new top-end for our Ground Power on the Black Pearl.
Looked around, and talked to Steve at Warrior Engines.
After listening to Steve's advice one what he thought I needed, for what I like to do with the boat, it was decided just to overhaul the cylinders. Add a 500 Holley on one of his intakes, and new plugs and wires, leaving it on a single mag set-up.

We fired her up last night, and boy am I happy right now.

We mounted a 70x38 FL-A props Wide Blade on there, and Steve's testing tach.
He told me before he started on our motor, that it would swing that prop with authority, but I had my doubts.
When we were getting ready to crank it up, I was still just hoping it could somehow stratch it's way up to 2850 with that prop.

Fired it off, and warmed it up. Holding it at 1400 and then stabbed it.

She slung that prop up to 2800 like nothing.
Climbed a little slower from there to 2900, and a litttle more slowly grunted it on up to 3000 rpm's and leveled off there.

Back down to idle, and He stabbed it again with the same results. No Problem.

IT'S BADD!
I AM VERY HAPPY RIGHT NOW!

If you looking for the good stuff, go see Steve!
One man shop, with one level of quality. He will bring you what you paying for.
He will tell you how it is, even if it ain't what you want to hear. Did'nt try to sell me nothing I did'nt need, and I got first class work for my money.

Big Al got a 540 from Steve, and it's slinging a 3 blade 72" H 2950 on his trailer. It ain't loosened up yet, and he's gonna try a 74" to hold her down!

Steve knows Airboats.
Lycoming, Continental, or Ground Powers....
If you want cheap junk, he is not your guy.
If you looking for a stout motor that built on quality for the long haul, call Steve.

He will shoot you straight, even if it's not what you want to hear..

Every Job is a little different, so I would'nt wan't to be quoteing Steve around.

I will say I think I got treated fair on everything, and I got everything I paid for... and then some.

He is not going to be one of the cheapest shops to do biz with, but he is one of the very best.
One man Shop, and one level of quality start to finish. But understand..... He will not build anything with junk in it, even if that's what you want. That's his policy on doing buisiness. He just won't do it, and will refuse the job.

In the end, you'll get more for your money.

The quality is always remebered, long after the price is forgotten!

If you wanting a top notch motor, just give him a call and talk to him about it.
He will do his best to figure it out with you man if your serious.

Steve built my AV 540 motor in 2011 and I have only had 2 issues with it, a mag drive gear and accelerator pump in the carb. All in all he builds a great motor.
