Strange Objects Area 2A

Does anyone know what the big square areas with the L shaped docks are? I was getting some coordinates from google maps and noticed them. Just curious if anyone has any info about them.

I believe they were doing some type of water sampling as well as cattail expansion research

My guess was aquatic farming of some sort or an area for duck population counts. Keep the info coming maybe someone can solve the mystery.
