Steve:
Pleasant close of last evening. I watched it several times and felt like I was flying again, then air boating over one of our many beautiful marshy lakes.
Great new technology used with your seasoned talents and great skill.
Thank you for creating it and sharing it with us.

A video like this may one day help us out against regulation, it clearly shows that the airboat does not harm the area or even disturb the weeds. Excellent job and I agree you should put in for a exception to the regulations for hire this video might just help you get one. Or we can simply pay $10.00 a gallon to help out for gas. I want one for orange lake.

Thanks guys. No Lariat its blocked by 3 locks that I know of. Some may not like me posting this because it might increase traffic on it but I don't care because it belongs to all.lariat wrote:Really enjoyed the video. thanks for taking the time to put it together and share it with us.

Have you ever thought of using that drone to cover the Airboat races, that would put a whole new prospective on that as well

Thanks Bud, To edit a HD 4K video and upload it to Youtube Or Vimeo takes about 7 hours for lets say a 7 minute video. 4K is way out front for the Internet. Flying and making the video is a ball. I know everyone would like to know the cost, its like everything else. You can buy a Jon boat and put a electric fan in it or buy a Killing Time from Diamond back. I bought a little trainer for a 100$ with camera plus GPS and it will fly 60 feet and I had no ideal it would just go 60 feet until I lost it and Matt grabbed the control and run it down lol. Flew it one time real well but its to boring for a old high tech Red Neck. I did a lot of research and bought the DJI Inspire 1. With one control they retail for around 3 thousand but that is just to get started because you have to have a Ipad and a few 200 dollar battery's along with lots of other goodies you have to have to make a great video. Sniper I do plan on doing a lot of events and would love to do a race. To do a control event like that you would have to be invited to video it "Ethics" plus they would have to have a safe place to launch from for safety. People doing crazy things like flying in or near a Airport and trying to see naked women through their windows has caused a lot negative thinking about them. I predict every Fire dept. Police Dept will have one or someone will volunteer like I have to the National Search and Rescue by UAV. It takes a lot of training and practice because this thing is so smart it will almost fly its self. I didn't intend to write a book but I have been asked a lot of questions and hope you don't find it boring. Its a lot of clean fun if you can afford it. Almost like owning a Airboat.akblackdawg wrote:Steve, I finely just watched your vid, very well done, i really enjoyed it, thank you. Sniper check out the DJI Phantom 3 if you're not into making commercial videos. Its ideal for SAR and you can set waypoints to fly a grid. A good package about 1500 dollars and make sure you buy it from a local Hobby Store for support.Sniper wrote:We plan on having them for our SAR team to use they could be very useful

Steve
I did a lot of research on drones when they first came out and continue to stay on top of whats out there, when The DJI first came out my SAR team leader sent a letter to DJI about working with us on purchasing some and training they would not give us the time of day it was real disapointing we were not asking for them free we just were hoping for some help with set up and opperation, the one I have been looking at is the Yuneec Q 500 because it is a little wider and from what I read a little more stable because of the width than the DJI phantom, I was just not compleatly happy with the picture quality on the Yuneec right now I'm hoping they will improve it, your thoughts and how hard is the Adobe to get up to speed on ?

Re: We made this video from my Airboat yesterday using my dr
Its so simple that its tough, if that makes any sense. I was telling skinnypockets today I made this video and put music to it and I don't know how I did it. lol. I watched youtube tutorials to do what I did. If you don't have a teacher thats the best way. Its the best out there and its not free but if your going to make quality videos you need it. Windows Movie Maker is simple and very easy when using a video tutorial plus its free. Hope this helped.Sniper wrote:Steve

Cool, I could take some lessons from you. https://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/sy ... ments.html this is the link that says it will work on Mac's. You can get it free for 30 days, thats what I did then I bought it for a year. On another subject, this is a link to SWARM Volunteer Roster Map - North America. I'm surprised only one name from your area is on it. If you know someone who flys they may be interested in helping out. All the pin drops are Facebook listings I think. Drones are a good tool for searching. https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/viewe ... axI0JdQ6hYSniper wrote:Because I do professional photography I use Apple not windows I will check to see if adobe has it foe Mac I'm figuring they do

Steve; Will you be bringing you're drone? I need some practice shots.
I mean that I need some areal photos of the event to put on disks for the vets down the road with the ground pic's.

To open ones eyes, you must let them see!
Remember; sometimes it's better to be thought a fool than to open you're mouth and prove it.
