GO480 SIRIUS BLADES??
Just finished my GO480 295hp. I bought a 2 blade power plus during the build and come to find out the blades were shortened. I was under the impression the prop was going to be an over all 78" but since the blades are cut down its on 74" and now motor is WAY under propped! So my question is.... I found a 80" 3 blade sirius, sould i attempt to run it as a 3 blade? Or should i look for a short 2 blade hub and run it as a 78" 2 blade?????

Isn't the Sirius a super wide blade? That GO480 must have monster torque. My Caddy with 2 to 1 only turns the 2 blade S prop set at #2 to 4200 rpm WOT.

My opinion a 3-blade Sirius is to much for a GO... A 2 blade 78" would probably work good.

From the thrust testing we have done, that engine should perform best with a Whirlwind three blade 78" stump puller or whisper tip 2.0 or the same blade configuration in other brand props you may chose to purchase. For more info. you can call Simpson Quality Designs at 772-563-0435 & ask for Dave.

My bad . . . somehow I read that and saw GSO rather than GO.
Didn't even realize that until I started to point out that even a
healthy Caddy ain't gonna out torque a supercharged AC motor.
Two blade would likely be the better option.

2 blade will work . But i have tested all the props and a r sytle blade is the best. 2 blade will give u alot of torque roll
if u don't run dry .then should have gotten a bassboat

Re: GO480 SIRIUS BLADES??
thanks for all the replies gents. So I did buy the Sirius because I feel I got a good deal, installed it yesterday and took it out for a few hours in the cold last night. My motor does turn the prop 340 at about the 1 mark setting but it has so much torque roll that if I keep my foot in it it would definitely sink the boat. Not sure where to go from here. might look for a sort hub and try to run it as a 2 blade 78. anyone interested in a 3 blade hub?? haha

Re: GO480 SIRIUS BLADES??
What did you do with the hub from the 2 blade power plus? Might try just sticking 2 in their and see how she does. We may be able to get rid of some of the torque roll with falcons but hull style/shape may have something to do with. What kind of boat are you running?
