Brings back memories of when I fished Valdez,homer,and the keni 18 years ago. My biggest catch was a 43 lb king salmon on 15 lb test in homer. I would love to make that trip again. It was an experience I'll never forget.

Sounds like you may have a bad hook in the center of the hull. I would try and shim or jack the center down a Little first.
