Re: Glades closed

Tomorrow will be a great day to ride there. Broward County Airboat Club is having a ride out there and will be visiting all the camps. I'm sure people will be putting in at both Lox Road off of 441 and Stub Canal off of US 27 just North of Sawgrass Recreational Park around 10 am. Hook up with whomev...

Best Prop Option for New Boat

I am building a 12' Jimmy White Step with an 0 435 with 480 Jugs and 540 Angle valve pistons. I have a 70" five blade Warp Drive but wondering what other prop options would give the best performance. 3 blade H, 5 blade Razor X, or maybe some sort of two blade set up.

Have it retooled to a standard hub and it will open up your options. See mine.

Re: how far do you drive to work

I drive 84 miles each way or 168 a day. I don't know if there are any well paying jobs in my town except for some at the Sugar Mill. I do have a simple drive straight up or down US 27. There's only like 6 lights and it only take about one hour and 10 minutes

Re: Plastic Wood Bunk Boards ?

I have than on my small trailer, it was a lot cheaper than buying wood and carpet. The upside is that it's really slick, the down side is its really really slick. Solo loading can be an adventure if you at a ramp, dry loading is great. I just bought the 1x6x10' and bolted right on top of my old wood.

I don't know about the hull but E 185 520 conversion usually makes for a rank ass motor.

Re: Stehull question

Larry Williams built his steps at 6 foot and that's where the Wicox mold came from. They run great and many swear by them but to say anything over 6' is junk is kinda silly, I think Chuck Hawk and Jimmy White make most their hulls in the 6'6" to 6'8" range and I think they kinda know what they are d...

Everyone asks me what the engine is equivalent too and what the horsepower is and I don't know.
I'm guessing somewhere around 260 hp

I have an O 435 with 480 jugs and angle valve 540 pistons. I have not run it yet but it's going on a brand new 12' Jimmy White step and I hope she will run good.

$39,000 for a 2005, man I see the prices the charge foe airboats in Texas and it is ridiculous. You can buy a brand new boat for that in Florida from just about any manufacturer with warranty and five hunderd horse power.

We hog hunt the lake year round. There's no problem with FWC. We dig hunt but you can gun hunt during daylight hours.

Re: Pics of project

I would go with a 25 or 30 gallon tank and you should be able to run all day. That's what most boats run down here. If your cutting down an old tank you could always use the other side to make a small 5 or 10 gallon reserve tank. I always carry 5 gallons to get home.

You aint giving crap, your paying for a clean bathroom, your paying for a safe place to park your car, your paying for them to maintain the boat ramps , nothing is free. Do they owe you? Where don't you pay for things? Go park on the Alley it's free, it'll only cost you the price of your truck. Bitc...

Can anyone tell me the tolerances on a crankshaft that you cuold still use it for an airboat versus an aircraft. . Eric, I appreciate all the work you do but to say Holiday Park was the Gladesman Culure is BS it had turned into almost a squatter camp. The change over is just taking place. The new restrooms are being built and the new slabs for the RVs are being poured. They are still a few months out but its coming along.
