Putz,
Heres some video running in/out of water on snow/ice.
Klondike Jim's video about 4 mins in is a good example.

Re: Ice boat stuck

We splash in/out of water on step, over ice, in the snow, etc.....but dont park a wet hull on the ground/snow. The ice and snow builds and sticks to the hull when stationary. The same happens running snow, friction warms the bottom and you need to park the boat on something so it doesnt freeze down....

Re: Ice boat stuck

Yep, wet bottom froze down to ground. When we park after riding in snow we park the boat on logs, branches, carry a couple 2x4's to toss out and stop on. Or else your froze as you found out.

Our Lab wears them, she has no problems keeping them on.
I got the idea from Skip, his labs had them on years ago.

Re: Can I just patch my poly I have a little tiny scratch threw it in one little spot I don't think it even leaks

It usually burns and doesn't melt, uhmw that is.

Your uhmw isn't sealing the boat. Other than securing a piece of loose poly, I don't understand your concern over a scratch on the bottom of your poly?! Am I missing something here.....?

Re: New Boat got motor ???

Another vote for MAS motors. Mike builds motors that last and we run ground on big heavy boats a lot. We are delivering a 383 on a 16' boat with full cab, uhmw, 50 gal tank, etc....today to its owner. He will be very happy with its performance. Money spent on quality equipment is an investment in yo...

If anything is connected to the boat it might be the ground terminals.
Disconnect the ground terminal from the batt and that should do it.

Look at my website, lots of pics there of airboat and jetboat uhmw installs. No relief cuts, no heat, compound bends. 3/8" uhmw, 8' wide x length of boat, all one sheet. We install with weld washers or poly capped 1/4" x 20 bolts backed with bonded washers and locking nuts. https://m.faceb...

Re: Polymer bending

Work outward in a radiating circle fastening it down. This will eliminate any bubbles or excess material. Start where the bottom turns upward, in the center of the boat. Your hair dryer, heat gun, or propane torch are a waste of time. Trust me, I install this stuff on boats reguraly, just finished u...

Re: Polymer bending

Force it to follow the contours of the hull with pressure. Use ratchet straps, prybars, and blocks to pry and force it then secure it. A warm hull and hot sun helps but its still work get it right.
