Re: My First Bear Hunt = Success!!
Absolutely! Every spring we put one or two in the freezer. Fresh out of the den, feeding on grass and roaming the beaches of Prince William Sound, heck yea. Not a lot of meat on a bear, suprisingly. Suppose you haven't tasted mountain lion either........ BK, I guess I've led a sheltered life .........

Congrats on a beautiful bear. Did you measure it, tip to tial and front paw to opposite front paw to get a squared measurement, just curious?
Getting it rugged?
What are you making from the meat? Bacon burger is excellent as is most types of sausage.

Re: SBC 350 with overheating issues
I use the valve like yours to burb air out of my system. Run it till she starts to warm up, crack the valve open till antifreeze exits. Shut the valve and keep an eye on the temps. Repeat as necesary.
Also helps if the thermostat has a small hole drilled in it as mentioned earlier.

Re: New power plant help
Dave, Do you offer the same warranty as MAS, I believe they are 2 yrs, unlimited hours? Our boating season in Ak is rather short compared to most. Typically starts in April and ends after moose season, end of Sept for many. Most only get about 20 to 30 hrs a year if they run them often. Thus, 2 year...

Re: Communication on an airboat.
I've had my wireless headsets for 3 years now and I love them... Got them from http://www.yourtalkingnow.com.... Great guy to deal with. I fell in the water last weekend with them in my hand.. Let them dry out for 2 days and they work like new.. I would definitely get another set!!!!! Ask for Rick!...

Re: Canning meats ....
Everything is ready to eat when its opened. Often we'll pack some veggies in the meat jars, makes its own gravy. Just heat and eat. Great to keep at the cabin! Bk That sounds delicious. Ever eaten salmon with cabbage? I love it. Not much of a salmon eater unless its bellys that I smoked. Also make ...

Re: Canning meats ....
Either raw pack or smoke it first, then stuff in jars and can at 10psi for 90 mins. The canning process kills any bacteria. Makes room in the freezer and is easier/cheaper to ship to family and friends. Plus it stores much longer in jars. Everything is ready to eat when its opened. Often we'll pack ...

Pic is not a bear track......no claw marks across the toes and it would be two front feet stepping on each other in the pic, neither is a hind foot.
Good luck on the hunt. They are delicious here as long as its not a fish eater.

Re: help caribou hunt or moose hunt?
No bou in unit 16. Moose area is hunted hard by guys with cabins all along the river system. Its also flat terrain with antler restrictions meaning you can call them in and might have a second or couple seconds to determine if he's legal. Very tough hunting area even for a resident. Many prefer to h...

Re: hull handling?
We routinely carry 100+ gall of fuel, camp (tent, food, cots, bags, cooking eq., water, etc...), and critters in the boat....in excess of 2000#'s and it fits nicely under the cab. We climb beaver dams that are 5' high and jump banks off the river of similar height to access fishing or hunting ground...

While I see winglets on plane wing tips, I have not seen them on airplane prop's.....just an observation. Maybe they exist, I don' know?! One would presume if they were so great on an airboat they would also be popular on airplane props.....Patti at whirlwind could educate us perhaps as they produce...
