Re: 502 crate motor recommended upgrades.
John His wallet is the determining factor but with the smaller boat hulls you guys run I would use the ls. I'm Waiting on two mas ls one is going in a 20ft and the other is going in a 16 ft. they like hi rpm and they get good fuel economy that and they don't have the weight of the big block and they...

Re: hull handling?
Lot of people in peanut gallery, The hull has the same sides and width and height of transom as the 18 footer that me and bk are running in fact the front part of buds is wider for stability then me and bk are running. I'm a Dealer for a Alumitech and the hulls are built for Alaska running. Trust me...

Re: hull handling?
If you want to lighten it up and still have the power you have know, I built two last year one with the 550 hp mast motor and the other a water thunder motor both ls motors, But the biggest thing is money one was 15000 the other was I think around 12000, So that is how you can drop weight for a bbc ...

Re: hull handling?
You know bud if you spent some money you could buy a ls motor and put it on instead of the big block if that would help, with gear reduction the motor and reduction set higher then a belt reduction. But when you had me build that airboat money was a factor, I hope you don't want me to go down this r...

If that is the rear main seal from your motor that is a one peice seal not two, good chance you have gen five motor, check the block number they should be on the right rear of the head on the block right where the reduction bolts on, go on mortec.com and look them up it will tell you if its gen 6 or...

Re: 14' GTO porpoising
How old is the haul you have. I can tell you that when you build a new airboat haul, and I don't care how builds them. When you weld the transom up by the drain plugs the aluminum warps up, I find this on all the hauls I have brought up here and built. Take a hammer and pound that edge down all the ...
