Re: Circle h hulls Information
I drove one on the Pea River. No issues after fine tune on the transom lip. Road flat and slid through turns. Fun little hull.

Re: Rotax powered Can Am
Rotax 583, 618 & 670 with provision 8 cases accept Rotax gearboxes and are built for a prop application. Don't know about can-am Rotax motors. Good luck with the build. If you search here in the mini airboat forum there is some information on Rotax builds.

Re: Ducted fan on jon boat 14x36 will it work?
Your 503 Rotax with a B box would spin a bigger prop for sure. However, your prop should NEVER be longer than your hull's width!!! Do some homework in the mini airboat section of this site. My mini is a12' x 7' Alumitec with a 583 Rotax C box 2 blade Razor X Core weighing just under 500#. It would h...

Re: Ducted fan on jon boat 14x36 will it work?
The key in mini airboats is light weight and displacement. There are threads on ducted fan applications. Use search function in the mini airboat category and avoid sure to fail time wasters. This is my opinion after costly trial and error, as well as research for nine years in chasing mini airboat p...

Re: Ducted fan on jon boat 14x36 will it work?
In searching mini airboat forum for air john projects you will find very few success stories. Johnboats typically are too narrow, have ribbed bottoms and will not perform like an airboat. You might consider finding a light weight used airboat hull and trying your fan motor to move it on water. Don't...

Re: Mini airboat built in China
In my opinion you need to build a hull wider, longer and lighter than what you have now. Displacement footprint keeps you sitting higher in the water. As Sniper stated above, look into a Rotax 2 cylinder 2 stroke engine with a gearbox and clutch. Read the posts on this forum in the mini airboat sect...

Also pay attention to wind direction. Those floating islands (some call them tussets, some tussocks) will block a boat ramp. Winds from the northeast can block Haegy Burry ramp.

Re: Metal filings in oil and two pins came out drain plug on Briggs 35 help
You might check out some of the mudmotor forums. There is alot of Briggs info available on those sites. Much more! Nothing against SA, just not many airboats with Briggs motors. Since Chuck closed Airboat Pro he's not available to answer questions. Paul Dixon at Airboats Unlimited might have some in...

While you are taking down the motor you might check your crankshaft diameter. I hard to replace mine after it sheerer off. They made two different sizes. My 1 1/8" sheered by prop torque. Replaced it with 1 7/16". Just a suggestion.

Sounds like heavy hull, under powered and under proped. My mini 12' hull is 212#, 85 hp engine and 70" 2 blade prop. Also, are you running skinny water?
