I appreciate the information Slidin Gator the boat actually has a newer sheet of 3/8 poly riveted on and I actually have thought of building a new bulkhead and adding more stringers to stiffen the bottom up

The hull does have wedges under the bulkhead on three out of five stringers but the bulkhead is bowed up along with the three center stringers which why I was asking about putting in a jack to push the three center stringers back to where they are supposed to be

So I’ve been thinking about this for a while now I have a welded Stossel open hull that’s been pretty much run hard and beat up on the bottom of the hull. The stringers are bowed up in front of the gas tank and in between the stringers it is pushed up as if it had been run over major rocks and stump...

Thanks fellas this little rig does pretty good for having a 160AV :D :D and I’m a big ole youngin for my age (6,1 and 310) I also had my uncle in the back seat (190) plus his big ozark cooler full of his busch lattes :lol: and it never got over 160 all day Saturday and it was hotter than the devil’s...

IMO I would do away with the stainless and go with steel flex to help lighten up the boat but if you are looking for the extra protection keep the stainless or go with poly
