I second that on getting the lay of the land prior to your hunt . Finding your way back to the ramp could be challenging , and yes like above said lots palm stumps etc . Bonus is its a great excuse to tear some bass up !

most filter heads are mercury style filter . Bring your old one with you . Vented caps are a pain .Just a thought does you fuel pump pull through the filter or push the fuel through ? Under normal vacuum of a fuel pump water will not pass the filter . If its 100 % full it could but will cause a mass...

Re: Fuel additive
alcohol by nature is hygroscopic .The reason ethanol based fuels are bad in a marine environment is mainly due to this point . Being that av gas is non ethanol still by adding alcohol you are negating the intent by design .Water has to be coming from somewhere ,with all the rain we have had vents an...

a good swedging tool for copper lugs is alot better than soldering from a safety standpoint. Loose connection creates heat , soldered connections can fall out . Hence why battery cables in the marine industry are crimped some both soldered and crimped .

Re: Fuel tank vent question
ok first question , is your vent built into the cap of the fill? The perko all in one caps are horrible they make a spacer to shim the fill up so water doesnt puddle . If its a standard fill make sure the oring is correct . and the vent points aft. Expanding and contracting isnt your issue a good fu...

Re: Educate me. Turbos and Blowers
The outboards I deal with that are supercharged ,the data stream shows vacuum and not necessarily pressure , i.e. a normal 275 mercury verado is approx -11"hg at idle .That motor is capable of 15 psi of boost under acceleration , which is seen as a 11" hg .Now an engine naturally aspirated at wot sh...
