Re: Best Dry Loading Trailer for my 15' Panther Ice Hull
Being a trailer guy I can tell you the Loadmaster trailer is of superior quality compared to a Karavan, So if the $ is the same it's a no brainer to go with the Loadmaster. Dakota built a good trailer for what it was, not sure it has near the features of what your looking at ?

Not sure if you have gotten a hold of Balistic yet, I'm pretty sure Alpha fab has SBC adapter plates.

Your old hunting outfit looks like the Ruger "can't remember the designation". Highly accurate but in the 14# weight outfitted ?

Pm Gary Armstrong and ask him directly. If that is his build I would think he could give you the actual details.

Re: 520 Contential updraft vs down draft.
When I ran the cfm calculator on the jegs site; 520ci @ 3000 rpm it came up with 650 cfm carb. That is what's been running on my gitsu for two years. very strong, and fairly good on fuel. "about the same as a friends injected 0540". I would think a two bbl would leave a lot on the table.

Try taking a hammer to the trailing edge of your hull. LOL That sounds drastic, but really. Take a small sledge hammer and lightly tap down the trailing edge of your hull, does not take much "maybe 1/16" - 1/8". " You will be amazed at the improvement. Also to get that slight bel...

A direct drive application will limit your RPM's too 3k'ish. there for your 400 hp motor @ 5400 RPM will only produce a portion of its hp. Maybe you should consider an a/c boat ?

Re: Electrolysis
Best not to use a riveted hull in salt water, it will generate electrolysis at every rivet and become a spaghetti strainer. Also previous post was correct "The new p/t wood WILL react with the aluminum" , the aluminum will loose that battle. A plastic bunk cover will solve that problem. An...

220 gpu's have been pushing airboats for years. They are fairly durable engines that can get the job done 90% of the time.
Down side: its a gpu that will almost never bring back a good $. Use it for what it is, when its wore out move to a/c

Re: Piece river question
It is at the end of the launch canal, maybe 100 yds. There is an access where you can drive just about to it, Given your situation I don't believe that would be an issue.
