Ecotec 5.3 and 6.2L

Anyone have any experance running either of these the 5.3 L83 or 6.2 L86. Concidering putting on a 14’ Marty Bray hull for my son.

Well I just purchased a 2015 6.2l L86 with 26k miles I will let you all know how it turns out. It will be several months before rigging is built and boat is finished. We are planning on using ox box 2.55 ratio and 80" 3 blade water walker Falcon or Maximus prop. My son changed his mind on the hull and bought a new 13.6 Alumitec Hull. So here we go

Sounds like it should be a great setup. Direct injection / E85. Great power numbers. I got a L83 on the stand but my CT355 is still running strong for now. You doing the wiring harness yourself?

Man, your going to have a lot of pitch in an 80 4 blade falcon. I have run that same setup with a 2.38 ratio on my ecoturd and it was pitched near the 2.0 mark and I spun it around 5300 on the water on 93 pump and 5600 on e50.

Seriously consider more prop. I would lean toward a 4 blade Maximus at 80 inches or find a way to add a bunch of diameter.

Well just took motor off boat a few days ago 4-26-21 took it to engine builder putting new rotating assembly 406 stroker all forged, new injectors, fuel pump, throttle body, ect. and the Whipple installed. says I will have reliable and safe engine somewhere between 850 to 900 hp. going to 4 blade prop also.will post and let you know it turns out. I saw a car on his dyno when I was in there same engine real similar setup dyno said 980 hp crazy what these motors can put out.
