6.2 Levitator engine vibration

I have a 2013 6.2 liter levitator on a 20' diamondback airboat. It seems to have developed a vibration during acceleration. Everything is tight but I am worried about it. Seems to be running fine but its weird. ANy thoughts

What am I looking for on the flex plate? There is no indication it isn't running on l cylinders but I will check that as well. Thanks.

Any signs of cracking, excessive runout etc. Flexplate failure is not uncommon. I don't know where Levitator gets their flexplates from, but JW has a good reputation for airboat applications. Inspect gearbox for any signs of wear.

Google these terms for plenty of information:

"cracked flexplate southernairboat"

It is good to be concerned when the boat makes noises it didn't used to.

Thank you!

I agree with Gator; make sure it's firing on all 8 cylinders. My last outing, the engine developed a vibration at cruise. I have the Diacom software so hooked up to the engine and did a cylinder contribution test. Sure enough, number 4 cylinder was the culprit. Was hoping it was just a coil pack but after installing a new one, still had a dead cylinder. Now it's either the injector or the wiring harness. My engine is from Marine Power but I'm almost certain that the Diacom software works with Levitator as well. You'll need a laptop.

Hello,
Levitator Owner. Diacom works. DBW throttle pedal? Been troubleshooting PCM Levitator for several boating seasons.
Diacom software is at first a mystery, you seemed to have mastered that...sensors and fuel quality are big concerns.
If you are running salt or salt/fresh areas, wiring may not be marine tinned. Connectors all have be silicone dielectric grease.
Hope you find the problem.

A buddy chased the same issue for several months and final just replaced his wiring harness. It fixed the vibration and the motor runs much stronger. Coil and injector connectors seemed to be the issue, but really not sure.
