Do i need a air filter on this setup if so i need a custom intake my carp is to close to the rigging i cant get any size filter on it. If i could raise the carp about a foot it would work could a higher intake be made any sugestions I will post pictures when I get home. btw I gave up on the gpu520 conv and just bought a 0360 on a baby rivermaster much happier. let me know if anyone wants any parts to build a boat they are a bunch in the classifieds.

I'd say yup on the filter....cut a hole in that basket,extend that tube and you'll be in business, good place to put it also IMO

I had a FI sump like that on a 170, made a smooth, short 90 degree and used a AC updraft, worked well.

A number of folks probably run them but the 90 degree intake plenum may not be the most efficient. Also unless you take a number of plug readings to get the jetting right you won't be getting the most out of that engine. JMO.
