I hear stories about ppl selling frog legs, gator, nutria and even water snakes.. What is there here in florida that you can sell like that and what do you have to do to be able to do that? Just thinking about having the airboat actually pay back a lil.. :toothy7:

go to myfwc.com and check it out .. if you are going to sell wholesale only you need one lisc. if you are gonna do retail as well I think you need another to go with the wholesale. If you are selling them cleaned then you may run into issues with the health dept. Fish and shrimp and crabs have to be sold whole or else you gotta get health dept inspections ... when you buy BBQ off the side of the road and the smoker isn't screened in and the prep area isn't screened in you are buying from an illegal stand .. they can be fined 1000 bucks a day. The will have a MFDV # in letters like on the boats if they are legal ... just a thought

Yea I didn't think about all that... Hardly seems worth it. When gator season comes around, quite a few ppl sell the meat and hides. Guess they have to go they the same hoops?

some do some don't ... not all get the required permits and lisc. ... most folks take cleanliness and health issues seriously ... but some don't. I am not by any means sayin anyone who doesn't get them is a health risk .. but some are. Once you get a dose of salmonella or e-coli poisoning it leaves a mark. But on the other hand we have had backyard fish fries and BBQ going on forever and almost never hear of someone dying from it. When some of them go commercial they get driven by the profit margin .. and health issues can take a back seat to money. just be aware of the situation .. I buy from quite a few unlisc. food vendors ... but I look at their setup and sometimes I walk away ...

Yeah I got a few guys in sanford buy coons, possum, turtles of any kind, gar, mullet, hogs and deer. You get it and theyll buy it. Make sure they got cash up front though. Come across a few turtles and raccoons on a night riding and you could pay for the night that's for sure. Almost lost a job at invacare in sanford for selling raccons and muscovy ducks in the parking lot lol! I told em they didnt pay me enough and thats how I paid my bills 8)

I haven't cooked em myself, but Ive sold em to some folks that have and hadn't heard any horror stories. I actually did some reading and apparently it is a very fine meat that some high end chefs use...???? Guess Im not high class enough to eat those nasty birds!
