The Original RiverRats...
...camped somewhere on the St. Johns near Hwy 50 (I'm thinking sometime in the 1920's).
Can't name them all, but #2 and #3 from the right are Tess's Great(x2) Uncles, Lamb and Hamp Savage. Both born in the 1880's and both spent their lives on the river.
Lamb Savage built what is now called the Midway Fish Camp back in the 1940's.
This picture courtesy of the Fort Christmas Historical Society. The book Fort Christmas, A Pictorial History can be bought at the park. It has over 500 pages of East Central Florida hunting, fishing, and living pictures dating back to the mid 1880's.
