This is Uncle Boxcar in the 12' Grasshopper Airboat that him and my Dad bought together back in the late 60's. It was powered by a Lycoming O-360 with 180 hp. That was back in the days when Paul Dixon was with Grasshopper. First boat I ever drove.

Sorry Red, should've had that in there so I also edited the ad. It was a Lycoming O-360 180 hp.

Rick,Paul said that picture brought back a LOT of memories for him. After Boxcar got sick he used to go pick him up in his dad's big ole black Lincoln and drive him around to all the places he used to go to and eventually they would end up in Ocoee playing pool somewhere in a pool hall.Your dad Marvin and Boxcar got the FIRST 0360 180 hp lycoming on a grasshopper airboat. That setup would amaze a lot of the airboaters today!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Carol - I was only eleven years old the last time I rode in that boat and had forgotten about it being the first Grasshopper powered by a 180 Lycoming. It was extremely fast and kept my eyes watering everywhere we went.
Happy New Year to Ya'll.

I love pictures of ol' Uncle Boxcar. I wish I had a name like Boxcar, that's the coolest.
